John Connolly, Teachta Dála Galway West

John Connolly has dedicated his career to serving the people of Galway. First elected to Galway City Council in 2004, he has been a steadfast advocate for our community, focusing on education, housing, and sustainable development. In 2024, John was elected as a TD for Galway West, bringing his commitment and experience to the national stage.

Before entering national politics, John was the principal of Athenry National School, where he worked tirelessly to improve educational outcomes for our children. His background in education provides him with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing our schools today.

As a member of Fianna Fáil, John is committed to the party’s core values of unity, equality, and progress. He believes in developing a distinctive national life that honors the diverse traditions of the Irish people and is dedicated to promoting the Irish language as a living part of our culture.
